This photo was taken during the “No-name” or “Perfect” storm in the fall of 1991. I shot it from atop the cliff at Lucy Vincent Beach, looking down on the most dramatic seas I’d ever seen at that beach. This was just moments before the dark, ominous, rain-filled clouds settled in on the island, enveloping us for days to come. I also photographed this same scene with color slide film – this was one of those rare occasions when I find a photo is equally effective in both color and black and white.
