Alison decided to use this gorgeous new frame style with her Boat Series, begun in 2019. Each print is finished with a deckled edge, and is raised from the white backing in such a way that it appears to float, casting a shadow – hence the term “shadowbox.” The frame is almost 2 inches deep, and the print is suspended between the glass and the backing.
